- You are guaranteed a 13/13 or 10/16 schedule.We currently have
positions open for the 2023 season in the following Regional
Coordination Centers:Sacramento, CA; Riverside, CA; Visalia, CA;
Colorado Springs, CO; Loveland, CO; Salem, OR; Coeur d'Alene, ID;
MUST LIVE WITHIN 60-MILE RADIUS OF ONE OF THE REGIONAL COORDINATION
CENTERS LISTED ABOVE.Pay Ranges$25 - $36 per hour based on
experience and location. Opportunity for per diem and
overtime.Position
TheWildland Firefighter Type 2serves on an engine crew, hand crew,
or tender, performing fire suppression and fuels management duties
in the most adverse climate, fuel, and terrain conditions. The FFT2
has no supervisory responsibilities and is supervised by the
Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1) or one of the Single Resource Bosses
(CRWB/ENGB/TFLD). The FFT2 works in the Operations Section.REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS PRIOR TO INTERVIEW
- Introduction to ICS (ICS-100)
- NIMS: An Introduction (IS-700)
- Current driver's license with acceptable driving record
- *Employees must be 21 years of age or older.PRE-ACADEMY COURSE
REQUIREMENTS
- Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (L-180)
- Firefighter Training (S-130 - Classroom Portion)
- Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior (S-190)PRE-EMPLOYMENT
REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of satisfactory Background Check, including Motor
Vehicle Report
- Passing Drug Screen
- Satisfactory DOT Medical Examiner's Certification (will be
authorized by employer)ACADEMY REQUIRMENTS
- Ability to pass a WCT (Work Capacity Test/Pack Test) at Arduous
Level (Complete a 3-mile walk wearing a 45-pound pack in less than
45 minutes)
