SUMMARYThe purpose of this position is to effectively mobilize and coordinate a variety of resources that will ensure that the holistic needs of seniors 60 years and older are met.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Assists in planning a wide variety of fun and healthful activities including recreation and exercise, music, creative arts, education classes, computer and internet literacy classes, social activities and civic engagement opportunities.Enforces rules and regulations of Senior Center facilities to maintain discipline and ensure safety.Participates in trainings to develop skills and techniques for working with Seniors.Completes and files paperwork to refer Seniors for services/follow-up.Leads and promotes recreational activities for Seniors such as crafts, games, etc.Assists in providing recreation programs and services, including implementing and scheduling programs and services for Senior groups and interests.Operates telephone communication system. Answers incoming calls, greet callers, provides information and assistance, transfers calls and/or take messages as necessary.Ability to develop, maintain, and enhance the Senior Resource DirectoryConnects customers to resources neededProvides exceptional customer service for individuals from various backgrounds that includes efficient, precise, and courteous communication in a professional environment.Relays and routes verbal and written messages.Provides information about the agency to customers and other community members such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, and services provided.Monitors day-to-day operations of programs, classes and facilities, including ensuring that rooms are appropriately configured and that equipment is available; maintains records of room set-ups for classes.Communicates requests, complaints and inquiries from partners and the public; responds appropriately to emergency situations and provides crowd control and evacuation if needed.Monitors facilities and storage areas for cleanliness and condition of equipment; inventories and requests purchases for supplies and adjusts and moves items to appropriate areas.Assists in serving meals.Perform other duties as required.Coordinates the planning and implementation of a variety of special events and recreational activities.Recruits and motivates volunteers to welcome, register, and participate in welcoming activities as necessary.Performs outreach activities to encourage senior citizens to begin, increase, or continue participation in center activities.Supervises the collection, counting, and deposit of monies.Performs general cleaning and maintenance of the center.Prepares necessary records and reports, collecting data, perform clerical duties, and is proficient in use of computer.Performs other duties as assigned.Must be fully vaccinatedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position reports to the Assistant Director.QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
