Summary: This Fast Track Advisor (FTA), performs a variety of admissions, progression and administrative activities for students enrolled in pre-requisite courses.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Pre-Requisite Courses Support prospective students in identifying pre-requisite class options available at assigned campuses.Track pre-requisite enrolled student progressions throughout SessionsMaintain student database for class headcount and student/FA tracking purposesSend out payment reminders via email, text, phone calls to students to ensure timely payment of tuitionFollow up via email, text, phone calls with students at risk of termination for tuition payment and attendance violations.Review/Prepare pre-requisite course session calendars with Academic Dean prior to confirm courses to be taught at local campus levelCommunicate finalized class list with Academic Dean and assigned FS Advisor for pre-requisite classes, and Registrar to confirm all students are prepared to start class 1st dayCommunicate with Academic Dean estimated textbook/lab kit needs for upcoming classesGeneralComplete applicable Student Enrollment Agreement (SEA) and other required enrollment docs.Facilitate the student experience to successfully complete orientation, start date, and meet necessary equipment requirements such as tech, uniform, and supplies.Collaborate with appropriate departments to create marketing campaigns to build awareness of SJVC's pre-requisite course availabilityPerform other duties as assignedSupervisor Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Competency: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Core Competencies:Adaptability - Responds to change with a willingness and ability to learn new ways of working. Degrees must be from institutions accredited by U.S. accrediting agencies. Degrees from non-U.S. institutions are recognized only if equivalence has been established and provided.Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to affectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to applicants and employees.Mathematical Skills - Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide, calculate percentages and ratios.Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook; and master proprietary software used to maintain student records.Other Qualifications: Must be available evenings for workshops and some weekends for seminars and or other events.
