Job Description:
Salary Range: $71,307 - $98,700 Essential Job Functions: The
roles and responsibilities of a Weapons and Sensors Integration
(WSI) Flight Test Engineer (FTE) include. Designs test programs to
assess the performance of various systems and system concepts.
Produces detailed test plans in accordance with the NAVAIR 3960
format. Plans lab, ground and flight test scenarios to support a
variety of weapons systems, radar systems, sensors, interfaces,
communication systems, and data systems. Troubleshoot Department of
Defense architecture framework and its application to mission level
analysis. Develops requirements for test scenarios and associated
documentation in flight cards. Reviews system level documentation
and provides changes and recommendations. Develops test methods for
evaluating performance and designs test scenario(s) to yield valid
and measurable quantitative test results. Assesses safety hazards
and mitigates risk in testing. Creates Test Hazard Assessments.
Determines resource and test support requirements, including
manpower, money, material and facilities and coordinates support
with schedule. Produces cost estimates for the project, monitors
project expenditures and generates financial reports. Defines
and/or reviews equipment for test, installation, and integration
requirements. Leads and conducts effective pre- and post-test
briefings. Conducts/leads test missions and assesses and resolves
engineering issues real time. Analyzes test data (real-time and
post-mission) to understand test results, draws conclusions and
assesses mission results. Reports systems performance in official
Navy T&E reports. Reports such as Daily Test Summaries, Naval
Message Report, DT/OT Transition report, Summary Report, RTR,
Deficiency Report. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of
customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
Bachelor's Degree with an engineering major (including those
specified for Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineers are
acceptable). 3 or more years of experience. Hold and maintain a
Secret security clearance. Must be clearable to the Top-Secret
level. Integration, Software Engineering, Program Technical
Services, Design, Fabrication and Integration Services, Aircraft
Modification Services or Training Services as applicable.
