Position Summary:

Technical Director, Digital is a key leadership role, responsible for continually defining and driving the agency's technical vision, roadmap and execution of web experiences and applications. You'll report to the Executive Director, Technology and manage a group of technical leads and developers.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will be expected to partner and collaborate with sales, client partnership, creative, and production departments, specifically responsible for:

Technical operations
Overseeing the formulation, planning, execution, and delivery of Agency projects
Meeting with clients to understand their needs and translating business requirements into architecture and project estimates
Monitoring ongoing project status, ensuring high quality and on-time deliveries
Managing project technical resourcing
Consistently elevate the quality of engineering work and technical deliverables from LFL by maintaining clear quality processes and standards
Represent LFL as a technical subject matter expert both internally and externally (client, partners, etc.)

Team Leadership:
Identifying and hiring key roles necessary to enable consistent operations and successful launches
Create a culture within the team that embraces company values while promoting an effective and sustainable engineering culture
Lead performance reviews for technical staff based on LFL policy and procedure
Perform ad-hoc coaching for underperforming technical staff team members and outline clear growth and opportunity plans for performance improvement
Maintain consistent documentation on coaching with LFL executive leadership and HR teams
Engage with the tech community in our area and at large

This is a leadership role that is critical to the success of the company, and performance will be measured based on the success of the overall teams, and the accomplishment of goals established on a regular basis to help support overall company initiatives.

Qualifications:
Expert in web development, including 10+ years experience, with in-depth understanding of web application architecture, infrastructure, security, deployment, and maintenance
Extensive knowledge of the modern web stack including Typescript, Python, React, JAMStack, Firebase, etc..
3+ years experience leading teams of software developers in successful planning and execution of projects
Experience with leading teams in waterfall and agile development environments
In-depth knowledge of all stages of code creation and development required to bring a project from concept to ship
Passion for building strong engineering teams and cultures
Passion for keeping up to date with changing technologies in software development

Education:

Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
