Job DescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTIONThis position is a supervisory or management-level position. Reporting to the Division Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager develops and grows relationships with assigned sales accounts in a designated territory as well as cultivates effective working relationships with Outside Sales Representatives and their territories. The Regional Sales Manager ensures profitable growth in sales, revenue through planning, execution and management of an Outside Sales team.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a satisfactory level.   • Manage Sales Team to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed company-set goals for the achievement of sales goals within assigned districts/regions.
  • Collaborate with Executive Management to establish Sales and Margin goals for the Region.
  • Design sales programs for assigned team members in regards to both short and long-term sales strategies.
  • Evaluate appropriate new sales techniques and ensure its implementation to increase sales volume of the district/region.
  • Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales and margin goals.
  • Assist Sales Team with their techniques, forecasting, product descriptions, etc. and make recommendations on product enhancements for improved sales potential.
  • In accordance with established Sales Plan, completes all customer goals/objectives while operating within a specified expense budget.
  • Review regional expenses and recommend improvements.
  • Initiates sales process by scheduling customer appointments, and by maintaining an excellent understanding of customer needs, requirements, introducing new products and services, and preparing sales orders for assigned customer accounts.
  • Meets with customers as needed, to build and maintain necessary pro-active relationships.
  • Be a resource for dealers, producers, and vendors.
  • On a weekly basis, reviews customer sales needs, goals, and account relationships.
  • On a monthly basis, reviews sales goals and account relationships with Sales Team.
  • On an annual basis, performs account sales and business reviews for assigned customer accounts.
  • Regularly updates current product information to maintain a knowledgeable and accurate level of information.
  • Researches and compiles data on available marketing and economic conditions that affect the sales market and demographics.
  • Demonstrates an awareness in building a strong image/reputation by maintaining trade and professional relationships consistent with strategic objectives for the job.
  • Acts in the capacity of key liaison with local community business and professional associations.
  • Interacts routinely with customers and conducts on-site customer visits to ensure VSI visibility and to build and strengthen customer relations. Conducts assessments and makes recommendations to customers on purchase or ordering of VSI products.
  • Maintains sales territory reports and records on sales activities and communicates with Sales Manager and other relevant departments (by voicemail, e-mail, and/or phone) on order status and other customer and sales-related issues and concerns.
  • Report any shortages or discrepancies to management.
  • Educate Outside Sales Team with presentations, regular meetings and strategies.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interview and hiring process of future Sales Team employees.
  • Represents VSI in a professional manner at all times.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability is an essential requirement of this job and have the ability to work overtime as needed/required.
  • Responsible for maintaining good-housekeeping habits by keeping work areas clean and organized during work shift.
  • Establishes and maintains positive work relationships with co-workers, management, customers, and vendors/suppliers to create value and opportunity for VSI growth.
  • Based on business needs, may be required to travel periodically.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings and participates in group discussions.
  • Performs other job-related job tasks, work assignments and/or special projects as directed/assigned by Management.QUALIFICATIONSThe employee must have demonstrated experience and/or education as outlined below in order to satisfactorily perform the essential job duties and responsibilities. Qualifications may include, but are not limited, to:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field, minimum of three (3) years previous experience in sales/marketing;
    • Three (3) or more years previous experience in the Sales industry a plus but not required; or
    • Any combination of experience, education, and training that will provide the level of knowledge, skills, and ability required for the job.
    • Proactive team-building and relationship building, including the ability to work individually and as a team member.
    • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, SMART devices, and internal Company programs/applications).
    • Proficient math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, common fractions and decimals).
    • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.
    • Proficient skills in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
    • Read, analyze and interpret general business procedures, work instructions, training materials, professional, etc.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Effective problem solving, resolution skills, and ability to exercise good judgement.
    • Demonstrated customer services skills, ability to relate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the organization.
    • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.

    • Ability to work efficiently in fast pace demanding work environment, ability to handle multiple job duties with frequent interruptions with calmness and professionalism.
    • This position may require employee to operate Company provided vehicle or their own personal vehicle to conduct work-related business and therefore requires a valid drivers license, clean DMV record and current vehicle registration. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSThe Physical Demands and Working Conditions of this job may require the employee to perform the following physical activities during the course of work.
