We are Happy Mushroom, a full-service Virtual Art Studio Department specializing in providing high-end, real-time 3D Content and In-Engine CG production solutions for the Film, TV, Games, and VFX industries. Some of our highlighted projects include The Mandalorian, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Suicide Squad, and more.
We are currently looking for a talented, passionate, and experienced VFX Project Manager with extensive artistic and technical expertise and the ability to think outside the box and partner with leaders to ensure creative projects are brought to completion along with extensive strategic planning to maintain swift communication throughout the project lifeline. This position requires extreme attention to detail, quick thinking, a proactive approach, and a quick problem-solving demeanor.

Some duties of this position include:

  • Organize all necessary needs of the artistic production staff
  • Research, plan and present project budget to potential clients
  • Manage logistic operations and organization of on-site production
  • Ensure deadlines are met, staffing needs are fulfilled and projects are brought to completion at or under budget for staffing, budget and time
  • Manage team of Associate Creative Producers, Coordinators, Senior Artists and other members of the creative design team
  • Manage client turnover & delivery schedules
  • Track overall client progress for shots, assets and logistics
  • Ensure clients receive shoot data, and reference for all turnovers
  • Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication with clients and build long lasting rapport resulting in subsequent projects
  • Assist Marketing department by communicating expectations of publicity material whilst following client's guidelines/expectations
  • Liaise with C-level Executives on contract creation, funding, staffing, furloughs and problem-solving when issues arise to ensure in-budget timely deliveries
  • Work alongside Producers as needed to assist with budgeting, scheduling, bidding, and breakdowns
  • Communicate with Executive team on a weekly/daily basis on project hurdles, plan of action, team morale and project completion forecast
  • Perform effective performance management, proactive performance documentation and employee succession planning whilst adhering to compliance guidelines
  • Effectively communicate with Human Resources and/or Employee Relations to problem solve staffing hurdles
  • Build communication bridge with Talent Acquisition Manager to proactively plan staffing deadlines
  • Nurture, develop, and manage our VAD Team with the support of our other department heads
    The perfect candidate will possess:
    • A minimum 5 years of continuous relevant experience working in VFX production
    • Must be a strong team player, proactive and solution oriented
    • Legendary communication skills and the ability to shift approach between Team Members, Creative Directors, Associate Producers, members of Management, Business Developers, C-level executives, and potential & current clients.
    • Excellent interpersonal and managerial skills, and ability to maintain a calm and positive work environment in high-pressure situations whilst aiding team in quick and effective problem-solving
    • Ability to thrive in constant fluidity. This position wears many hats!
    • Working experience with IOS, Windows, MS Office and various production software - Filemaker, Shotgun, Cinesync, Excel, Word.
    • Expertise in Side FX Houdini, Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects, Nuke, Blender, Marvelous Designer, Unity Visual Effect Graph and ZBrush
    • Must have a strong understanding of VFX pipeline and post-production.
    • Vast knowledge of past, current and future VFX projects in the motion graphics sector
